I would like to have a classroom webpage so that my students can get their homework, learn vocabulary words, and access information from home in a format that is accessible in both ASL and English. Doing this will require a bit of practice, so I am particulary excited about the prospect of getting a classroom website up and running.
Given that ideal, this blog will largely be about my journey of acquiring the skills requisite for that task. Ideally, I would like learn how to video myself and upload that video to my site, so that I can have an ASL translation side-by-side with the written English. I would prefer those videos to be right on my page and not just a hyperlink.
Outside that, I honestly do not have a set list of course expectations. I have had other classes where we design webquests and things of that nature, though I am excited to play with Picasa. My cousin uses it frequently and I think it looks like a great tool.
As far as my current experience, I have a great deal of experience with the Microsoft office suite. As a student, I have had to write more papers than I can count. In presenting my topics, I frequently whip up a decent powerpoint in under an hour (depending on the length). I also use social media with a vengence.
